Our goal is to ensure Connex syncs reliably and quickly, especially during the holidays.
As of 7/22/2019, the insert orders in bulk setting was hidden. If you had the setting activated, the setting has been deactivated. Bigcommerce users still have the setting enabled.
For Connex users, our software must respond within two minutes with sales to sync. Otherwise, the sync will fail. The story behind this setting was many of our queries to ShipStation and Amazon took longer than two minutes. The orders were held in Connex and our tool queries these sources every hour. Users would download orders from our database, instead of the sites directly. This caused three issues:
- Users would choose a date range, sync, and receive no orders. It would take a few minutes for the orders to appear in the queue.
- Using this setting would require us to rent more hardware.
- Most users sync from date of install forwards and their queries happened in less than two minutes. Therefore, it was unnecessary to use this setting.
For special cases, we can enable this setting on your account in the admin. Connex also offers an order previewer, located on the left of our configure page under reports, to see what orders will appear.
Queries to ShipStation and Amazon have been optimized and our tool can a few hundred orders at a time.
Disabling this feature will allow our software to scale in during off hours and scale out during the busy season.
