In preparation for the holiday season, our development team will upgrade our hardware for Connex for QuickBooks Desktop users. The increase will make the sync more reliable, faster, and ensure our hardware can handle the increased usage.
Right now, Connex for QuickBooks runs on a single computer with 7.5 GB of RAM. If Windows performs an update or if Microsoft has hardware issues, all Connex users are disconnected.
Over the past several years, I have seen Connex for QuickBooks go offline for 10 – 15 minutes because Microsoft is updating our servers. These servers become overloaded during the holiday season. The update will create a group of smaller computers that will process requests; if it is busy, then Microsoft will bring more computers online. If it is slow, then fewer computers are available. It’s a win-win situation; our company saves money because we pay for hardware we use. For customers, you receive maximum up time. If a computer is offline, there are several others that are available.
Some minor coding changes are required. Our team has run extensive tests and the integration runs normally. If your web connector flashes red, please contact our support. Click view log and send us the details. An error message that our develop team needs is located inside the log.
We plan to release the update on October 28, but we might release it sooner. I will keep you updated.
