We will be updating our Amazon integration in July of 2019.
Our current integration pulls a list of orders. For each order, our software asks Amazon for the order items. We estimate it takes about sixty to seventy five seconds to pull forty five orders. Our new integration was clocked at about ten seconds for the same list of orders. For our QuickBooks Desktop customers, this is a big improvement. As you know, the web connector will time-out when it takes longer than two minutes to pull sales. Some of our Amazon customers, especially those syncing a few days worth of sales, experience time out errors. The new logic should prevent many of these sync failures from happening.
The update will also help with remitting Amazon sales tax. The new logic will make sales tax reporting more reliable.
Some customers have opened support cases saying the integration returns several hundred orders, instead of the orders that shipped. Our current code pulls sales when they are modified. This will pull shipped orders, but orders that have changed for any reason (sometimes without customer intervention) can also be returned. This coding change will happen around mid-July.
Right now, there is one draw-back; our tool pulls no product title or product ASIN. We will look into pulling those fields in a future release. As for the product title, there is a workaround. Login to Connex and click manage. Expand advanced transaction. Check use QuickBooks item description. Our tool will pull the description from QuickBooks. Since the rules run before our tool assigns the product title, you can run no rules based on a product name.
Users can disable insert orders in bulk, located under advanced transaction. Over time, we will notify users that there is no reason to wait for Connex to queue the orders. Users can sync faster, with this new integration, and more reliably because Amazon will fail to throttle them as frequently.
